Every person has both the masculine and feminine energies within them. Our western culture with it's emphasis on 'doing' has often neglected the more receptive, intuitive sides of our inate nature. We see the result everywhere in the form of tiredness, fear, competiveness, addictions and separateness. The planet also suffers because of our compulsion to 'do' and not 'be'. The following teachings are for both genders, yet in particular for women. For if we are to heal our planet we must take time and heal ourselves and restore the delicate balance of the masculine and feminine.

The feminine principal with it's inate wisdom will do much in bringing peace, truth and balance back to our amazing planet and to all who dwell upon her.

Jamie Sams an American Indian writer and teacher has compiled a book which brings together the ancient teachings of the Feminine Principals that were so close to our Ancestors hearts. Every once in a while, if you are lucky, a book will find you and make your life bigger, such a book for me is "The Thirteen Original Clan Mothers" by Jamie Sams.

There are 13 moon cycles in our lunar year and these teaching are embodied in a Clan Mother (Feminine Principal) for each of these cycles. The stories that Jamie Sams writes for each month are both poetic and enlivening. She is a gifted storyteller and teacher with a wonderful sense of humour.

I have had my own unique journey with the Clan Mothers and I have written the following pages to assist anyone who decides to venture on the path with these wondrous beings.
